Snow Dogs

The snow stopped, for now. More is due tomorrow. I feel like I've been shoveling for most of my life! And it's so cold, my nose hairs are freezing. The dogs' noses are freezing, too; they all sneeze a lot when we go outside. Today, I'm going to visit Twinkie who is such a joy! She's just about a year-old beagle mix. But smart! And so darn cute. We'll definitely go running. Well, for her, it's more like being fired out of a cannon, 'cause the girl RUNS! I just try to keep up!
Later, I'll go visit Oreo. So different, but equally dear to me. Oreo is a dachshund mix, almost 17 years old, nearly blind, quite deaf, but does love her Meaty Bones. She looks at me with such a betrayed expression when I insist we go outside for our "walkies." I just KNOW she's thinking, "Just give me the damn Meaty Bone, Woman!" Actually, I worry about her, because she seems to be losing some mobility in her rear legs. I worry about that a lot. Her mommy loves her so... it's very difficult to think about the end. But Princess Oreo is not there yet! That's for sure!
The sun has been shining all morning, but I see clouds moving in from the West. Ah, the sun was so nice while it was here, but I do like the clouds, too. Makes everything private and small. Safe.
